Juneteenth reminds us that liberation doesn't come from a single moment. It comes from people refusing to be silenced, generation after generation.

Right now, we are fighting for the safety and freedom of our people. Black voters and communities continue to face systematic efforts to dilute their voices — through gerrymandering and redistricting maps drawn to divide and diminish, through voting restrictions that make it harder to show up and through Supreme Court decisions that have rolled back hard-won protections.

Our democracy is only as strong as the voices it includes.

This Juneteenth, we honor everyone who marched, organized and sacrificed for the right to be heard until slaves were emancipated. We remain committed to protecting everyone's right — in our communities, in the courts and at the ballot box.
